For the brownie mixture;
1/2 cup pure maple syrup (I use grade “B”)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocao powder
1/2 cup creamy almond butter
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients and pour into a 9×9 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper, set aside.

For the pumpkin swirl;
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 egg
1/3 cup almond flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Mix all ingredients together and place five big spoonfuls, evenly spaced, on top of the brownie mixture. Gentle use a rubber spatula to swirl pumpkin into brownies. Be careful not to over swirl and make it one homogeneous mixture. Bake for 35-38 minutes.

    Well, I have just put these in the oven and am sad to say I don’t think they’ll be anything like the picture :( . I’m not sure what I did wrong?! Followed the recipe to a T but the pumpkin swirl was pretty runny so when I went to place my “spoonfuls” in…it just kind of all mixed together. So, we’ll see how they taste…hopefully they’ll be yummier than they look.

      OH NO! You are right, it is all my fault! There was supposed to be 1/3 cup almond flour in the pumpkin and I left it out when I typed the recipe! I added it now, but if they don’t turn out, email me and I’ll send you an apology pack of ingredients. :(

    WOW! They were great! The flavor was spot on for what I was looking for. I will, however, double the brownie mix for next time, and scrap the parchment. I know it’s great for easy clean up, but the brownie didn’t come out as hard as I would have liked.
    Thank you so much for this! I’ll definitely be making it for family on Thanksgiving.
